For brekky, we headed over to a cafe just a couple shops from The Grace.

I had their popular banana bread (A$2.50), a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice (A$3.50), and an Affogato (black coffee w/ ice-cream) (A$3.00).

Contemporary music played in the background.


After brekky, we headed through downtown towards Hydes Park, where we caught bus route # 380 to Bondi Beach.

Backside of this bus ticket says:

"Did you know Sydney Buses now has 100 buses powered by Compressed Natural Gas? Catching a bus is part of the solution to improving Sydney's Air Quality."

Cool Mate. It continues to say:

"Travelling more than you have paid... fine is now $100." =^O

 

In about half an hour, we could see the beach up ahead....

And here we are at Bondi Beach... enjoy the view...

    Jogger spotted @ 11 o'clock! :)

 

Okay... enough sitting around.

Not that I don't enjoy watching joggers and surfer boys, but let's go for a walk.

1:30pm.

A 5 kilometer (3 miles) journey....

Couple of Rainbow Lorikeets in the trees.

   

4:00pm.

Alas, we made it to Coogee Beach.

A couple of little restaurants here and there, but this one had pies.

Good thing too cuz I've been starving since we left Bondi!

I had the Chicken Pie, and a Bagotti Pie (aka banana cream pie) for dessert.

And a "Heaven Can Wait"... watermelon + rockmelon (like a canteloupe) + OJ.

A$12.50.

 


4:23pm - Several busses were lined up in front of Chish 'n Fips, taking their breaks.
We hopped onto # 373.

"Circular Quay," I said. And $3.70 I paid.

"Market Street," said Max. Only $2.80.

Oops.

Backside of this bus ticket says:

"Did you know that Sydney Buses has over 1,600 buses serving the Sydney area."

How many does Seattle have?

 

I noticed lots of little shops along the streets. Max and Stasha were going to just head back to the hotel and clean up for the evening. Instead of waiting in the hotel room, I decided to jump off the bus and check out the stores.

Randwick was the town.

Being the Fishlady's Daughter, I had to sniff out the seafood. :)

 

Down the street was a mini-mall, with a shoe store, pharmacy, market, and a little grocery section.

I had to try some of the fruits.

Sundowner apple and gold peach were sweet... Sugar banana tasted like our bananas with a twist. The passionfruit was difficult as usual, but tasty. And the little kiwis... well... just about fermented.

 

I hung out for about half an hour before hopping back on a bus. Turns out I couldn't continue using my previous bus pass, so I had to get a new one.

"Market Street," I said.

A$2.70.

Pretty soon I was back in downtown...

... this time finding my own way back...

Anyways,

Strolling up downtown again towards Chinaman's land. Tonight, we're having dinner at:

A bit of a wait this evening... probably because of a party happening at the restaurant upstairs.
That's alright though -- gave us time to browse through the entire menu... a wide variety of dishes, and a wide variety of fresh seafood:

Uhh... the one on the right.

The hostess tells me it's a King Crab.
Silly woman... I can't be fooled.
Ok, maybe she wasn't fooling me, but this doesn't look like the Alaskan King Crab.

Really wanted to try it, but only two seafood eaters at this table. :(

Instead, we had some...

Rice,

Scallops in black bean sauce,
(I prefer our Pacific and Pink)

XO Pippies,
(XO = popular Chinese sauce),

and some veggies (wombak and eggplant).

For dessert, a sweet soup (done just right) and some bikkies on the side.

Complimentary.

Full and happy. :)

Yet I still had room for a Coconut Gelato from Gellatissimo.
Mmmm-Hmm. A$3.50.


Tonight, we walk through the Queen Victoria Building. (Remember, from the tower?) Fancy shops, but all closed by this time of the night.

Beautiful place though.

 

And now, a bit of a rest before tomorrow's hike...
